Getting To and Around Beaver Creek

Beaver Creek is approximately 2 hours West of Denver International Airport and 30 minutes East of Eagle County Regional Airport.  It is very easy to get to. If you are coming from Denver International Airport, take Peña Blvd to Interstate 70 west and travel for about 130 miles to exit #167, which will take you to the Town of Avon. The Town of Avon sits at the base of Beaver Creek Mountain.  If you are traveling from Eagle County Airport, take Cooley Mesa Road to US Highway 6 and take a right, which will take you east. Follow the signs and proceed onto I-70 to exit #167. 

Beaver Creek is also accessible via ECO Transit, as well as the free Town of Avon shuttle which makes it easy to get around town. Keep in mind that the bus schedule in the summer months are drastically different than the winter Months. The bus is a great resource to easily get to the slopes or any other destination you desire anywhere in Eagle County. View Beaver Creek ECO Transit Information here.

There are also several shuttle services available directly from Denver International Airport, or Eagle County Airport.

Arrowhead Village

Arrowhead Village is the best kept secret in Vail.  It’s the locals choice for skiing in and out of Beaver Creek.  It offers free parking with a short walk to the Arrowbahn lift, and there are rarely lines.  The mountain itself has fun runs to warm up your legs, and the chairlift offers direct access to Beaver Creek.  Arrowhead Mountain also offers wonderful snowshoe trails in the winter with a lot of uphill enthusiasts as well.  Arrowhead is a well traveled mountain.  The Village offers two restaurant options.  One is at the base of the mountain- Broken Arrow, the other is located on the golf course at the Country Club of the Rockies.  Vista Restaurant is open to the public and serves well crafted, seasonal fare.  If you are staying within Arrowhead Village a dial-a-ride shuttle is available to take you to and from the base of the mountain.  From there, you can catch a free shuttle up to Beaver Creek Village.  Arrowhead generally offers better value than Beaver Creek Village and is equally as convenient to getting on the hill.

Avon

Avon

Avon is a great choice for value and location.  Located at the base of Beaver Creek mountain, Avon opens up ample options for all kinds of shopping, food and entertainment.  Avon offers a free shuttle service that will take you up to Beaver Creek Village, or you can jump on the Gondola at the Westin and be mountainside in 5 minutes.  In addition to the easy access to the mountain, there is a rec center offering a kids pool and slide, lap pool and workout facility. 

Bachelor Gulch

The Ritz Carlton is in the heart of Bachelor Gulch.  Surrounded by various options for homes the Bachelor Gulch chairlift brings you to the top of the mountain.  The mountain opens up to Beaver Creek.  Up at the top of the Bachelor Gulch lift is the famed Mamie’s deck.  A great place to have lunch when the sun is shining which is most of the time.

Beaver Creek Golf Course

The Beaver Creek golf course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and is open to the public through June 15th.  Located approximately 5 minutes from the base of BC mountain, the free shuttle takes you right to where you need to be.

Beaver Creek Village

The heart of the action.  Beaver Creek Village is home to some of the greatest restaurants in the Valley. For the discerning shopper, Beaver Creek Village offers some exclusive locations for everyone in the family.  Smack dab in the center of the Village is an ice skating rink that is open in the winter.  Staying in Beaver Creek Village offers the maximum in convenience and mountain accessibility.  There are three chairlifts accessible out of the Village.  The Buckaroo Gondola is the beginner area, Centennial Express takes you directly to mid-mountain where you can access a number of different lifts, and Strawberry Park lift which brings you up to McCoy Park- an amazing nordic center in the winter.  At the base of Strawberry Park lift is the Beaver Creek Hiking and Nordic Center.  Beaver Creek Mountain has an abundance of snowshoe trails in the winter, and a great hiking center in the summer.  Whichever your season, Beaver Creek Village is a great choice for your family. 

Eagle Vail

Eagle Vail is located approximately 3 miles East of Beaver Creek.  The mountain is accessible via the ECO Transit shuttle, as well as driving.  The parking lots at the base of Beaver Creek are free, so driving is not a bad way to go.  Eagle Vail is very residential and offers quiet options that will get you away from the Summer or Winter crowds.  Great value can be found in this neighborhood which is convenient to both Vail and Beaver Creek.
