Vail Lodging Guide & Tips

Area Information

Vail has one of the largest selections of accommodations that one can find in a Rocky Mountain resort destination.   You can find some of the best accommodations in the heart of Vail Village with the absolute highest level of amenities and finishes.   However, Vail has neighborhoods and areas that feature large private homes that homeowners make available to rent to guests that offer fantastic values.   And while many people prefer to stay within the center of Vail Village or Lionshead - West Vail and East Vail are very popular as one can get more house for the money - and still just be a few minutes from the center of activities.  See our tips below.

It is very important that you are realistic with your budget and expectations of what your budget will offer.  There are lodging options for most budgets, however I will repeat- you must be realistic with what your budget can afford.  Don’t expect to get a slopeside room for 8 people over Christmas week for $300 per night.  It just won’t happen.  In fact, not much is available for that price over Christmas week so adjust according to your budget.

Now that you have determined your budget and expectations accordingly, seek out a location that may suit you the best. The Town of Vail bus system is incredibly reliable and quite convenient for traveling in and out of the Village.  Sometimes this option is even easier than parking and quite a bit less money.  The shuttle is free.  Parking is not.

Are you okay with bunk beds? Truly understand what you are looking for over your mountain vacation.  This clarity will help you locate the best place for you and your group.
