Taos, New Mexico has a ton of activities that people of all ages can enjoy. Many of the activites around town are outdoors so be sure to bring lots of sunscreen! Whether you are on the mountain, sightseeing, or just walking through the town, Taos always has something to do. Be sure to try everything you can. 

Rio Grande Gorge Bridge

Also known as the "Gorge Bridge" and the "High Bridge" to the locals, the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge is located 10 miles northwest of Taos and directly over the Rio Grande River. Enjoy spectacular views of the New Mexico landscape during your visit the the bridge. The bridge is also home to a main tourist attraction of bungee jumping and it is perfect for people who seek thrills. The bridge is the seventh largest in the United States and was restored in 2012 to replace sidewalks, restore steel-work, and provide a new concrete deck surface.

Taos Pueblo

Taos Activity

Taos Pueblo is a small town inhabited by Native Americans and their families. The adobes built are still being used today for businesses and homes alike. There are many tours available to learn more about the local Native American culture and to view their buildings and artifacts. Keep in mind that photography is only allowed in certain places. The river that runs near the pueblo is the source of drinking water for the townspeople. Located at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountain range, Taos Pueblo is a perfect way to enjoy the day learning about differnt cultures and how they have lived for hundreds of years in this small town.

Taos Ski Area

Taos Activity

Taos Ski Area is a perfect ski mountain for the whole family. Located in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains in Northern New Mexico, the ski area exhibits 1,294 acres of skiable terrain along with 300 inches of snowfall on average annually. The mountain has easy runs and challenging slopes to cater to all ages and skill levels alike. Taos is home to one of the highest rated ski and ride schools in the entire country. The views from the mountain are spectacular and has a atmosphere that is European mixed with the local Native American and Spanish cultures. Powder day in Taos are unbelievable and very fun. Be sure to explore the whole mountain!
