Painted Canyon

Painted Canyon is a 6.8-km out-and-back trail near Mecca, California. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 1 hour 58 minutes to complete. The canyon is a popular trail for birding, hiking, and walking, but tourists can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of the day. The best times to visit this trail are September through April. Dogs are welcome and may be off-leash in some areas.
