Sandpoint has a fantastic trail system for both hikers and mountain bikers in the summer, and those same mountains make for a great skiing destination in the winter, especially Schweitzer Mountain Resort. In the warmer weather, Lake Pend Oreille is the perfect place for boating, paddle-boarding, fishing, canoeing, water-skiing, and wakeboarding. You can rent whatever you need at the local marinas. 

Sandpoint attracts many varieties of festivals throughout the year, so there’s always something fun to do. The nearby craft breweries and even a vineyard offer a nice place to relax.
