Grand Portage State Park

Grand Portage State Park
9393 E, MN-61, North Shore, Minnesota 55605
Detailed Information

The Grand Portage Band of Ojibwe share their land at the newest addition to Minnesota’s State Parks. The desire for a safe approach to the 120-foot High Falls of the Pigeon River brought about this unique cooperative effort between the state and the Band. This is the only park in the nation that is managed in partnership with a local Native American band. The result is access for everyone to one of the area’s most impressive natural features.

In addition to the High Falls, the park features a lovely visitor center with natural and cultural displays, restrooms and an excellent gift shop, hiking trails, the Piegeon River and snowshoeing.
